Item Development of an integrated architecture for vital registration system in Tanzania: a case study of Registration, Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency (RITA)(University of Dar es Salaam, 2010) Mbelwa, Jimmy TibangayukaOne of the sources of data for vital registration system. Unreliability and poor quality vital events data is due to the vital registration system being unreliable. The unreliability of the vital registration system is due to poor business process systems because of non existence of enterprise architecture domains models. This study investigated the development of an integrated architecture system model using Enterprise Architecture (EA) in order to improve the reliability and effectiveness of the vital registration system. The research approach used was case study approach. Information from the case study RITA vital events registration system in Tanzania was collected and analyzed. The analysis enabled the application of the Open Group Architecture Framework 8.1.1 using Architecture Development Method for product generation of enterprise architecture domains. Application of the Open Group Architecture Framework resulted in the development of the Business Architecture, information Systems Architecture and Technology Architecture. Using these architectures, the integrated architecture model of vital registration is developed. The integrated architecture model serves the development and implementation guide for improving the business process and also strengthens the business processes in obtaining the data from the vital registration system. This model will make the system for vital events to be of high efficiency and effectiveness. This study recommends the implementation and usage of the integrated architecture system for vital events registration system.
