Abstract
This study addresses the issue of phonological processes in Kimakunduchi dialect. The study examines how the phonological processes affect vowels and consonants in this dialect.The theoretical framework used in this study is Optimality Theory which was propounded first by Prince and Smolensky, (1993) and later on expanded by McCarthy and Prince (1993).The methodology used in data collection and analysis is observation, documentation, questionnaire and interview.The results show that kimakunduchi dialect has the following sound inventory
