Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of the Seventh-day Adventist church to the provision of secondary school education in Tanzania. Specifically the study intended to make a clear description on the contribution of the Seventh-day Adventist church in the provision of secondary school education in Tanzania. The study was mainly qualitative using case study design; nevertheless some aspects of the quantitative approach were incorporated. The findings unveiled that to a large extent the Seventh-day Adventist church has contributed to the development of secondary school education in Tanzania. One would wonder how the situation would have been had the Christian missions including the church under study would not participate in the provision of education. The study concluded that, the government by itself cannot manage offering education to all people in Tanzania, thus it is indispensable that it should broaden collaborations with other education stakeholders within the country.
