Satisfied employees one of the most important determinants of the success of an organization in a competitive environment. The commitment level of employees depends on the active involvement and personal integrity of their managers. This study NS as interested in finding out the satisfaction levels of male and female bank managers in Tanzania, The gender aspect came into being because of the increased number of women in management. This was a sample survey conducted in Dar es Salaam. The study relied solely on primary data collected from 75 bank managers who responded to the questionnaires sent to them. Data were analyzed using SPSS, t-test, regression analysis and correlation. Research results indicate that, there is a difference in job satisfaction between male and female bank managers in Tanzania. Men were found to be more satisfied with their jobs than women. The higher satisfaction level of men was a result of their position in our society. Men were found to be more educated and held higher posts than women. Hand in hand with that, the study showed that, men preferred both intrinsic and intrinsic job attributes while women preferred only intrinsic job attributes. The major recommendations on how the gender related differences can be removed include, enhancing both the intrinsic aspects in the jobs by re-designing jobs and extrinsic attributes. Also, the study recommends that, the time has come to give women more opportunities and positions to contribute to organizational performance and goal achievement in the male-dominated organizations.en_US
