Specifically, the study assessed the contribution of on the job training, the value of mentoring or coaching the effectiveness of outdoor training and the contribution of technology based learning on employees' performance in the banking industry. CRDB and EXIT banks of Dar es Salaam were selected as case studies so as to examine the contribution of the above independent variables on employees' performance in the banking industry. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires from a sample of 60 banking employees who were randomly selected from different departments of customer care, bank tellers and human resource. Data collected in this study, were quantitatively analysed by using regression analysis with the help of SPSS so as to produce the expected results. The results indicated that, there was significant relationship between all four independent variables against dependent. However, on job training was found to have a strong contribution on employees' performance than all remaining independent variables. Therefore, it was recommended that management of organizations, particularly in the banking industry should consider the contribution of training and development, especially on the job training in increasing efficiency and effectiveness of their employees' performance at their work place. Moreover, the management should come up with a well-structured plans and policies that will encourage training and development programs to be conducted after every specific period of time with the aim of imparting new knowledge and skills to the employees so as to improve their performance. Adequate budget allocation should also be in place so as to finance effectively the implementation of training and development programs in the banking industry.en_US
