Information Technology (IT) is among the technologies which could help boost up productivity in different sectors of the Tanzanian economy, such s Industry, Agriculture, Tourism and service sectors. The adoption of IT in these sectors would help increase effectiveness and efficiency in planning, data collection and processing, dissemination and utilization of decision-relevant information for the optimal control of resources. The Institutions of Higher Learning in Tanzania (IHL) have the unique opportunity of being able to serve as a springboard for the adoption, development and use of IT in all other sectors.en_US
