Abstract
The purposes of a National Park as laid down by the 1958 Conference were accepted with the reservation that at that time, the cropping of animals as part of a conservation programme had not been envisaged. It was noted, however, that although commercialise. killing was ruled out, the killing of animals was not inconsistent with the objects as set down by the conference. It was understood that Dr. Worthington was taking the question up with a view to getting the Conference’s definition amended to permit game management and cropping.
