dc.description.abstract | The study was done in Dar es Salaam at Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation as a case study to evaluate the effects of Organization Design in Organizations. Organization Design comprises of the Organization Structure, Organization Values and Ethics, Organization Culture and Policies, just to mention the few. Being one of the elements of organization design, organization structure was the focus of our study to make it of more specific; otherwise the study could have been too wide. The specific objectives included; To investigate whether the current organization structure emphasize on attaining organization goals, to investigate to what extent the current organization structure focuses on mission and vision of the organization and to investigate how the current organization structure enhance decision making. Our respondents were employees of TBC in Dar es Salaam offices in operation, business and managerial level. 85% out of 100 questionnaire administered responded. Contents analysis was applied, together with statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) in the analysis. The findings of the study indicated that organization design has a direct eject on decision making, enhance collaboration between management and personnel, effectiveness of the organization and portrays clearly distribution /delegation of power, thus organization design plays a big role in an organization especially by contributing to its effectiveness. To rectify the situation, TBC management has to look to its organisation design to reduce redundancy, cost, and shorten the flow of information to ensure speed decision making which is very important in this era of stiff competition in the media industry. | en_US |
