User’s attitudes and behavior towards electronic financial transactions in Tanzania

Abstract

There are many factors that influence the use of electronic financial transactions. The objective of this study was to examine user’s attitude and behaviour towards electronic financial transactions in Tanzania. The study followed a survey strategy and the use of various data collection methods and tools mainly questionnaire and interviews. A total of 101 respondents were involved in the survey. Data was analyzed using different approaches in order to compute descriptive statistics, mean values and factor analysis. The findings of the study show that age and level of income are the only demographic factors that account for more usage of electronic financial transactions among respondents. The first factor is related with user experience, convenience, accessibility, user friendliness, and transaction speed timeliness. The second factor is related with perceived credibility, perceived risk and accuracy. Thus, factor analysis has confirmed that factors influencing, the use of electronic financial transactions in Tanzania are user experience, convenience, accessibility, user friendliness, transaction speed lines, perceived credibility, perceived risk and accuracy . It is suggested that, policy makers should improve polices by governing banking industry and use of ICT in financial transaction for quality and better outcomes.
