Abstract
The research concern about the strategies for development of small and medium enterprise in Tanzania (SMEs), In general, countries like Tanzania are lagging behind in terms of technological development. This results in production of inferior products that are usually out-competed by products from countries with more advanced technology the main objective of this study assess strategies for development of small and medium manufacturing enterprises in Tanzania and suggest pertinent strategies for their development. The study population selected for study involved SMEs that are in Dar es Salaam region. The units of analysis in the study were directed to individual owner/manager and workers. Concern nature of the research question description and diagnostic research studies was best to come up with report finding. Data collection, combination of primary sources and secondary sources was used. Both structured and unstructured open ended questions was employed, The data was collected through questionnaire, interview and observation method. The study come up with strategies for development of small and medium enterprises, strategic implementation and suggested program to achieve goals.
