Combining pastoralism with farming in Tanzania

Development projects in pastoral areas have often centred on adjusting and improving the use of the existing resources. Although such a move may reduce the stress on land and waters as well as production mechanism their implementation have proven to be difficult and no where have they resulted in big increases in the productivity of the system.
