Abstract
President Nyerere yesterday praised the people of Mpanda district in Rukwa Region for their efforts in promoting irrigation farming in the valleys of Msaginya shula and utope rivers. Mwalimu was speaking after being shown an 80-hectare farm at urwila village now under irrigation. Most of the farm is planted with maize.
