dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to examine the differences in attitudes towards health insurance services by members of three sectors of the Government which were Education, Health and Finance. Main issues in focus were as follows: NHIF services, Health services providers, member characteristics, and environmental characteristics as indicated in the conceptual model. A sample of 180 respondents who are members of NHIF from two regions, Dar es Salaam and Coast, and 18 government institutions were interviewed. Data were analyzed using (SPSS) and the Chi-Square and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests were used to establish the differences in attitudes among members from the three sectors with regard to selected variables. Findings indicate that there are differences in attitudes towards health insurance services by members of three sectors as far as Health services providers is concerned. Education and Finance sectors had the same attitude that doctors and nurses are not available when needed while Health sector differed with others on that variable. Findings indicate further that there are no differences in attitudes among members of the three sectors of towards health insurance services as far as NHIF services, member characteristics, and environmental characteristics are concerned.en_US
