| dc.description.abstract | Internet banking has been the new way of banking globally and in Tanzania it has been facing a lot of problems and issues caused by various factors. Under these grounds, Internet banking effectiveness and factors affecting Internet banking in Tanzania were assessed. Research model to assess the effectiveness of Internet banking in Tanzania was developed and questionnaire designed to cater assessment of factors affecting Internet banking system in Tanzania such as; infrastructural, Internet banking usage related questions. Cronbach’s alpha was used to test the reliability of the questions. Four study hypotheses were developed and used in the study. Hypothesis one tested effects of ICT infrastructure problems on Internet banking effectiveness, hypothesis three tested effects of Internet banking system management and administration on Internet banking effectiveness where hypothesis four tested effects of effectiveness of Internet banking usage on Internet banking effectiveness in Tanzania. The study found that ICT infrastructural problems, Internet banking literacy among users, Information system management effectiveness and ineffective Internet banking usage affect Internet banking in different extents leading to ineffectiveness of the industry in Tanzania.
