This study aims to determine the role of CSR activities on employee motivation. The study was conducted at Airtel Tanzania as a case. The term CSR is often used to refer to external CSR activities. But this study aims to analyze the impact of internal CSR activities of an organization to its employee’s motivation as opposed to the normal external CSR activities. Purposive sampling and qualitative methodology were used in data collection and the analysis of data which led to the findings that employees are motivated by internal CSR activities. Employees favor to work for organizations that value them as one of the key stakeholders on the organization. Organizations also benefit from motivated employees since the employees tend to be committed, passionate and energetic. Organizations need not ignore external CSR, but organizations need to realize that charity begins at home. For them to be successful and increase shareholders’’ value, they need to pay attention to one of the key stakeholders group of the organization, the employees. Motivation can be from the basic upholding of the rules and regulations of employment to extra incentives that are crucial to the employees. Organizations also need to understand that there is not one single motivation strategy that suits all employees but will careful analysis and involvement of employees in matters that affect them, a good CSR strategy can be formulated that eventually benefits the employees and the organization as a whole.en_US
