Abstract
The Serengeti-Mara ecosystem has experienced dramatic vegetation change over the past 20 years, yet, one is still amazed and rewarded by the incredible diversity and abundance of wildlife which persists. Although the loss c woodlands and thickets, inside the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania an< Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve has been obvious, even to the untrained eye, the subtle innerworkings of this complex system are far less apparent. It has taken a substantial amount of time and the combined efforts of many scientists and observers to even begin to untangle the complex web that we know as the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. The task has been rather like completing a giant jigsaw-puzzle.
