Impact of procurement of goods and services from Tanzania government stores: the case of Ministries and Departments.

This study examined the procurement of goods and services from Tanzania Government Store. I took the cases of ministries/departments as the main customers of goods/services from Tanzania government Store. It studied the responses of government ministries or departments in procurements of goods/services from the government Store. The results obtained from the discussion in this study reveals that inadequate training and knowledge in the field of purchasing have caused insufficient qualified and approved purchasing personnel in the government and thus affecting purchasing rules and regulations. On the other hand, the study shows that shortage of fund from Central Government affects procurement and have caused a lot of items from government store to remain dormant. The study also shows that some goods/services from government store have higher prices than those from its competitors and thus abandoning the purchasing regulations.
