Abstract

The main the objective of this the study was to ‘’access the Factors influencing effectiveness of containerization management information system at Dar es Salaam’’ In order to establish assertion three variables were used in the study. In accessing the factors that influencing effectiveness of containerization management information system a sample size of 150 employees from Dar es Salaam port authority was established and data was collected using questionnaires. The results were analyzed using Chi-square and multiple regressions in the Statistical package for Social Sciences. (SPSS). The research shows that there is a significant relationship between the choice of system suppliers, project team skills; structure of the organisation will enhance port performance; The results therefore suggests that the Dar es salaam Port Authority should keep on improving Container management Information system through investing in system suppliers, project team skills, structure of the organisation which will enhance port performance; that is the number of throughput will increase, imports and exports volume of cargoes will also increase. The port authority should provide periodically training to its staff to keep them updated with new technology when arises, this may include travelling to the developed countries being advanced in CMIS.
