Abstract
This study aimed at examining the effect of reward system on employee’s job performance in the communication industry in Tanzania. Reward system variables namely salary, benefits and incentives were regressed with employees performance to determine their influence on the later. Structured questionnaires were distributed to 120 Vodacom (T) limited headquarter employees. Out of 120 distributed questionnaires 118(98%) well filled to cater for quantitative analysis .Analyses were conducted with the assistance of SPSS version 20.Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to test three constructs, that sought to examine their influence on employees job performance in Vodacom (T) ltd. The study reveals that two of reward system variables namely salary and benefits have positive and significant influence on employees job performance. However, incentives were found to have positive but insignificant effect on employee’s job performance. The study recommends that Communication industry such as Vodacom (T) ltd should reward their employees by providing competitive salary and benefits for them to improve their work. This study also open door for further studies on salary and benefits to be conducted in other Telecommunication companies such as Tigo to compare results
