dc.description.abstractThis study analyzes the determinants of female labour force participation in Tanzania, To do so it uses secondary cross- sectional data estimation techniques to provide a deeper understanding of how some variables like human capital, age, age square, and marital status determine participation of females in the Tanzania labour market. The logit model was used to estimate the determinants of female labour force participation in Tanzania. Results showed that education and age increase the chance of female labour participation by 0.366 and 0.003 percent respectively while marital status reduces the chance of female participation by 0.0303 percent. In addition to that human capital in terms of education, education square, wage income, and age are among variables that determine positively the participation of female in the labour market. The study concludes that efforts to address the problem of women’s participation in the labour market should focus onen_US
