Abstract
Several studies have shown that Motivation can be viewed as an effect to employee's negative or positive attitude towards a work organization. When employees are well motivated they are satisfied and make them slay longer in the organization. This study was about effect of Motivation practices on employee's attitude: Case study of Kibaha Town Council. The main objective of this study was to investigate the demotivating practices that may lead to employee’s negative attitude that engenders employees turnover, specifically the study investigated on the employee attitude towards leaving or staying in the Council, major factors leading to employee job dissatisfaction and Councillors contribute to either job satisfaction or dissatisfaction of employees. Various literatures related with the study was reviewed in order to have a link with the study. Methodology of the study used was a case study where 100 respondents from the whole population of Kibaha Town Council were chosen as sample population. Data were collected using research questionnaires and interviews while analysis was done using qualitative methodology and Statistical Package for Social Scientist (SPSS). The finding of the study shows that motivation have great effect on employees attitude, employees who do not compensated well they will eventually quit the organization. Further, the findings revealed that Councillors have great impact on employee’s dissatisfaction of employees. Therefore, the researcher concluded that motivation has a contribution on work performance and reduction of provide incentives to the employees, which will be relevant to the current economics trend. The management should come up with Motivation policy, which is relevant to the employee’s needs and feelings. The councillors should stay away from professions of employees to make them work comfortable and satisfied.
