Abstract
In this study an attempt is made to isolate and describe the morphological characteristics of nominal forms in the largely undescribed Vunjo dialect of Chaga as spoken in South Kilema. The introduction sounds a general note on Vunjo and reviews classification to date. Chapter two consists of a phonological overview in which the sounds of the dialect and rules relating to sound changes are introduced for a better follow up of the major description. Chapter three consists of a description of the nouns and their class prefixes. In chapter four a description of the qualificatives usually governed by the nouns described in chapter three is made, This extends to chapter five where verbal (subjective and objective) and negative concord is introduced. The work contains an appendix of sample texts, the Swadesh 200 word list, and a list of nouns encountered during the research with their English glosses.
