dc.description.abstract | The growth-rate of human populations in developing countries is a serious problem because of the difficulties pf producing adequate food for the rapidly-increasing population. The increasing population contributes to land depletion of fuel-wood. other factors contributing to resource degradation include the breakdown of tradition resource-management systems, inequality in access to natural resources, commercialization, and national policies. Tanzania's drylands are agriculturally marginal lands of low productivity and highly susceptible to degradation. yet these lands support 20% of the human population and most the livestock of Tanzania . | en_US |
