Abstract
The objective of this research was to find out challenges that face training and development functions in organizations, which later may be used to generate methods to improve employees` performance at work and increase revenues as a whole. The study was carried using as case study TBL; Dar es salaam. Data and information for the study was obtained through questionnaires, focus group discussions and documentary review. This data was them analysed qualitatively. The study identified that there has been left to be functional responsibility of line managers and of employees. The study concluded that several measures should taken to resolve these problems facing training and development functions at TBL. Such measures included but not limited to making training and development as one of the responsibilities of top managers in order to attract their attention on training matters hence being good outputs.
