Abstract
This research work describes problems facing TANESCO on the data management aspects and thereafter integrates the organization, management and technical dimensions/literacy in solving them. The problem is such that the TANESCO's existing information management system for its customers is based on the traditional file processing environment. This hinders intensive access and utilization of infomiation across the organisation, that further results into other problems of facilities management, planning and decisions making. The methodological direction is based on the Literature review of the Management of Infomtation systems; data collection and recording; system analysis; database design and data analysis. The results are such that the process of accessibility, retrieval and update of relevant Customers' information improved, together with the increase in awareness to the management and employees on database management system. In conclusion, for effective and efficient management of information systems' point of view and from the achievements of the developed and designed database system, then the administration is recommended to review their current customers' data organisation towards database approach.
