Abstract

The principle objectives of the Ngorongoro conservation and development project are as follows:

  • to identify the requirements for the long term conservation wildlife. forests, archeological sites and landscape in the Ngorongoro conservation area (NCA)
  • to assess land-use pressures and trends in, and adjacent to, the conservation area
  • to formulate a long-term management policy for the NCA, aimed at reconciling the needs of both conservation and development to prepare a plan for follow-up activities, aimed at ensuring the effective implementation of the management.
