The study on “investigation on access to international funds for agricultural development” was conducted in Hai District, Kilimanjaro region. Specifically the research aimed at; examining the conditions which determine the accessibility of international funds for agricultural development; exploring the contribution of international funds for agricultural development; examining factors limiting the access to international funds for agricultural development. The representative sample involved 120 farmers and 4 local government officials. While primary data were collected using interviews, questionnaires, focus group discussions and observations; secondary data were collected through documentary review. With the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), analysis of data was done through cross tabulations, percentages, tables and ratios. The study identified different conditions and challenges in accessing funds for agricultural development among smallholder farmers. Therefore to improve the accessibility of international funds for agricultural activities and hence agricultural development, the study recommended that smallholder farmers should use the modern technology in implementing their activities, implementations of gender and Kilimo Kwanza Policy and finally the government should improve access to financial services to all the farmers.en_US
