The results revealed that the current status of University of Dodoma library is not conducive for users to obtain required information timely and the strategies used to automate library services are not proper. That made library staff and users to have negative attitude towards the current services and thus pushing for automated services by proposing suitable strategies to accomplish it. The process have many constrains and challenges inter alia are poor planning, lack of seriousness and awareness, weak cooperation between library and university managements, and intervention of the process by non-professional department like Estate department.
