dc.description.abstractThe study examines the influence of workplace environment on employee’s performance in construction companies in Dar es Salaam region. The target population was employees of construction companies in Dar es Salaam. The study was explanatory in nature using a sample of 110 respondents from construction companies in Dar es Salaam Region. The study adopted pragmatic research philosophy. The study consists of primary and secondary data collection methods. The primary data were collected through questionnaire and interview. Questionnaires were distributed but only 100 were successfully returned and collected. Also 10 employees who were team leaders were interviewed. The data gathered in the study were analyzed through descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The results of finding show that there is positive relationship between workplace environments on employees’ performance. The findings indicate that two variables of workplace environment which were physical environment and job aids environment have great influence on employee performance than social support environment. The findings revealed that employees in construction companies were satisfied with physical environment and job aids environment. The study recommended that management of the companies needed to ensure that workplace environments are effectively provided to employees in order to ensure improvement of employees’ performance. Also managements need to ensure that supervisors are supportive because their support facilitates speed and accurate of employees performance.en_US
