This is the story of a man who went through many tribulations in his youth but he put his trust in God and in the end found peace. Many people are still alive who could write the story of what they saw and what they did in the 1914-18 War and subsequent years, but those who can give us story of events which occurred before the beginning of European rule in this country are few and far between. So the day when I first met the writer of this book was a stroke of good luck both for me and for you as Justin Lemenye, or, as he was first called, Sameni Kivasis, was one of the first Africans of Tanganyika who learnt to read and write.en_US
