dc.description.abstract | This study was carried out to find out the impact of the Coastal and Marine Management projects on sustainable livelihood in Mafia District of Tanzania. The objective is to assess the main objectives of the MACEMP project on poverty reduction and reduction of threat to the marine environment. The assessment of the project is done by looking on the difference between the treatment group (those who are supported by the MACEMP) and control group (households who are not supported by the project). The research techniques used to collect primary data are a combination of questionnaire, interviews and field observation and secondary data was collected through review of literature. In analyzing the information collected the Researcher utilized Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method, Descriptive statistics, Perception and Logistic Analysis. All methods of analysis used show that the project has positive impact on poverty reduction in Mafia District as revealed by the difference in poverty status/socioeconomic status between the treatment and control group. | en_US |
