The research explored the lack of mathematical geography books at the ordinary level secondary schools in a situation where the syllabus explains well on what to be taught, for whom and how. The research was conducted in Ilala district in Dar es Salaam region. Secondary school teachers, educational officers, ordinary level secondary school students and book sellers were the sources of data. Method used to gather data was interview. It was found that learning becomes so hard, and tiresome when the lessons involve geographical calculations, due to the absence of the supply of books with thorough information in mathematical geography portions especially in examples and learners’ activities or questions. The problem lies with the purveyors of text books (the Tanzania Institute of Education-TIE) cannot communicate on time and regularly with school heads. Geography teachers lack coordination and hard working on enriching the geography gaps because they know the details of the subject’s books available. According to teachers’ comments, the available content is insufficient to the satisfaction of the teaching and learning processes due to the shallow knowledge presented in calculation portions. The conclusion was reached that teachers and students are not satisfied with the content given on mathematical geography portions in text books. There is lack of mathematical geography books with thorough knowledge. Books with insufficient package in mathematical geography sections are used in secondary schools. Government through TIE, should revise and recommend the use of ordinary level geography text books enriched with enough required content for proper education provision.en_US
