The study was on contract management as an important aspect in the procurement cycle, which ensures that the client gets what is procured. The main objective of the study was to evaluate how procurement contracts were managed in terms of delivery time, cost, quality, payment system and effects caused by poor contracts in procurement in Tanzania Road Agency (TANROADS). Quantitative research approach was used for the study. It was a structured methodology that surveyed existing literature and quantifiable observations that led to statistical analysis. Findings revealed that delaying payment, poor order progressing, unclear specifications, poor communications and poor documentation system were among factors, which contributed delays of deliveries. Also they contributed to rushed orders, poor quality and high prices of procured goods. Results have implication to knowledge, management practice as well as policy changes. Management is argued that it can help to establish good payment system and provide clear specifications in order to avoid unnecessary delays. Also it can foster economic development and poverty eradication through establishment of laws that will recognize governance in the procurement contract management.en_US
