dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was assess the use of ICT for fiscal resources management among LGAs. The objectives of the study were to profile the ICT use for fiscal resources management. the impact of ICT use for fiscal resources management and challenges facing LGAs in using ICTs for fiscal resources management among local government authorities. Data was collected from two LGAs namely. Temeke and Kinondoni. Then analysis was done using SPSS mainly for frequencies. and descriptive analysis. Findings show that the LGAs use 1CT for cash management, payments receipts management, payroll management and assets and inventory management in that order of priority. Additionally, the LGAs were using 1CT for budget preparation and implementation. Additionally, the use of ICT for fiscal resources management have had positive impact related to increased financial transparency, financial control, proper use of financial resources an increased revenue in that order of priority. Yet there are some improvements related to the financial reporting. The study further identified a number of challenges associated with ICT use for fiscal resources management. These include poor ICT infrastructure, lack of compatibility among systems, lack of skilled users, poor leadership, culture and bureaucracy and poor attitudes in general. The study recommended that the operations of LGAs could be enhanced by the well-focused application of la to support control of fiscal resources that will lead into effectiveness and the quality of services.en_US
