This study assessed the factors which influence beneficiary members participation in the effectiveness of project decision making in Tanzania, the case being IFAD. The study has four objectives. The first objective intended to delianate the extent to which benefciaries gain voice in decision making. The second objective examined the extent to which degree of involvement of people in decision making process relates to effectiveness in decision making. The third objective intended to establish the involvement of disadvantaged people in relation to effective project decision making. The fourth objective of the study intended to investigate the extent to which people’s conciousness in decision making relate to effective decision making. This study was descriptive based. The study used a sample size of randomly selected 108 respondents from IFAD in Dodoma region. Structured questionnaire and interviewee guide were used for data collection. The study employed primarly quantitative approach in the data analysis. Quantitative analysis involved computation of frequencies, correlational and multiple regression analysis . The study found out that beneficieries involvement in decision making and peoples’ conciousness to decide had significant influence on the effectiveness of project decion making. The other two variables namely beneficiary gain voice and involvement of disadvanted people had no positive but insignificant on effectiveness of project decision making. It is recommended that for IFAD funded projects’ beneficiaries should be able to understand that these kinds of projects are aimed at benefiting them and therefore they should seriously be involved in the project decision making.en_US
