dc.description.abstractThis research aimed at assessing compliance of occupational health and safety provisions at the workplace. It was designated to find out kinds of occupational safety provided at the construction sites in Kinondoni Municipal, assessing the efficiency of safety provisions at the construction sites in Kinondoni Municipal and examining the safety policy of construction sites in compliance with occupational health and safety Act, 2003.The study applied both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. In connection with such approaches therefore it used case study and survey research designs. The primary data for the study were collected through questionnaire and interview. The study used 75 respondents including construction sites management officers and employees. The researcher collected data from the five selected construction sites. Secondary data were collected through documentary review. The research found that construction sites uses eyes protection, first aid facilities, precaution and protection from dangerous fumes and gas. Medical examinations and firefighting to ensure safety of employees. The study revealed that such mentioned safeties are lacing the efficiency challenge. Again, the study found that employees do not understand the content of their company's safety provisions. Additionally, the studs round that both employees and employers have little knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 2003. It is recommended that Company's management should consider their policy practices for the aim of ensuring safety provisions to employees, the good practices include participating employees to the policy development, communication of policy to the entire company and ensuring that each member of the company contributes to the implementation of the safety policy,en_US
