The following notes are the result of a visit to the lower areas of North Pare in September, 1951 , in connection with the development of such areas. This brought me into contact with thv Masai, whom I met at the following places: Toloha (camped two days) Same ( ” ) Kiriyn ( " one day ) Lembeni ( " two days) In such time at my disposaJ it was not of course possible to make an exclusive study of the history of these Masai, but my previous experience and knowledge of this tribe enabled me to find out in days information which another less fortunately placed by lack of such previous experience, would have taken weeks to discover.en_US
