Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the Social Economic Impact of Social Corporate Responsibility in Tanzania the case being Dar es Salaam Community (Bank DCB). This study was conducted at Dar es Salaam Community Bank located in Dar es Salaam. The selected sample for this study was 100 respondents of the selected DCB staff and customers. The study employed a multiple designs including Case study and survey design. The study found that the concept of CSR has been applied only relatively in DCB. From the findings, it has been revealed that the bank has CSR investments that it supports in the community. The CSR investments contribute to local development most specifically in terms of improvements to health, education, income levels and quality of life of targeted communities. This as the findings indicated has led to improved social economic impact to the communities. From the findings, a number of recommended actions have been provided to improve social economic impact to the community and in the creation of policies and guidelines for improving CSR strategies and programmes by DCB.
