Abstract
Since the inception of CHF as a strategy to fill the gap of budgetary deficit for health in Nzega, the district has attained considerable achievements in the struggle of improving quality of health care. Such achievements are in extra funds for purchase of drugs, hospital consumables (soap, brooms, beds, renovation of buildings). However, there is lack of information on why members dropout thence no intervention has been done to minimize the rate of drop out in Nzega district so far. Since reasons for dropping out have not been investigated, factors contributing to dropout are yet to be known in Nzega district authorities. The study aimed at obtaining the information from the community and service providers on factors contributing to high dropout of CHF members. The findings from the study can be used by CHMT and partners to plan appropriate and effective intervention on retaining CHF members, and encouraging enrollment of new members.
