| dc.description.abstract | My examination of the Conservation Area took place within the periods lst-15th June, 1962 (when the vegetation was exceptionally lush and green following quite abnormal rains) and 23rd-31st July, 1962 (fry which time dry-season fires were already burning in the crater highlands). I had, of course, previous knowledge of the Area stemming from the time (1950-54) when I was Chief Conservator of Forests, Tanganyika, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Serengeti National Park. | en_US |
