Abstract
During the week the Governor of Kenya, Sir Patrick Renison, made his first visit to the country of the Masai, who drive their great herds of cattle across the game plains of southern Kenya in search of water and grass. At Kajiada, in the Southern Province, Sir Patrick spoke at a gathering of Masai tribesmen. He described them as the famous warrior race the proud courteous, cattle-loving people who prefer their own way of life and resist the inroads of our Western materialistic civilization which is so attractive to so many of the peoples of Africa.
