The results show that significant importance is given by the top management in assets and liabilities management function. They also reveal that there is a-positive influence of regulations on the composition of assets and liabilities. However, the current Fls regulations promote efficient utilization of assets and liabilities in the Fls. Bank of Tanzania should review the regulations to reflect the changing financial sector environment. Fls should follow the guideline issued by Bank of Tanzania and other global bodies on effective management of assets and liabilities such as Basle Committee, and providing capacity building to their members of ALCO.
