| dc.description.abstract | This study assessed the determinants of natural gas pricing in Tanzania with specific reference to the government institutions responsible for pricing of the product. The purpose of the study is to assess the determinants affecting attainment of the affordability of the natural gas pricing in Tanzania. With that, three hypotheses have been developed which were minimal users, imported liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and limited infrastructure. Positivism was the methodology guiding the study with the inquiry being conducted though explanatory design in form of causality testing. Data were gathered using questionnaires whereas the information generated from the tools were computed in SPSS program for the analysis to be performed using the program. Descriptive statistics were generated to show the profile of the participants to the study in relation to oil and gas Industry and the study. Moreover, correlation and multiple regression analyses were performed to show the existing relationship between independent and dependent variables. Results indicated that all three hypotheses were all positive and statistically significant on the dependent variable. This entails the fact that affordability of natural gas pricing in Tanzania is being affected by minimal users, imported liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and limited infrastructure. The study recommends that the government should speed up in investing on the industry on compressing and package of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as a way towards heading on achieving affordability on pricing of the natural gas in Tanzania. | en_US |
