Abstract

The study assessed influence of financial inclusion on economy of Tanzania whereby the case study was Dar es Salaam city. The main focus of this study was to examine impact of financial inclusion on the economy of Tanzania by focusing on how technology, financial interactions and business entities involved as key issues in financial inclusion affect the country’s economy. The study was mainly guided by three specific objectives. The inquiry employed case study strategy whereby primary data were collected through questionnaires and interview. Secondary data were used to compliment primary data. Findings showed that technology, financial interactions and business entities positively affected, to a great exent, financial inclusion system in Tanzania. Moreover, the ultimate desired goal of financial inclusion, which is delivery of financial services to low income segments and disadvantaged groups as well as categories in society have been well realized by the financial inclusion system in Tanzania. The study recommends, among several other aspects, that the current technology should be improved through further investments and venture so as to increase level of interactions and transactions electronically in order to keep on advancing and escalating more than the current situation.
