The study investigated the effectiveness of Mobile Money Transfer (MMT) system on social security schemes contribution in Tanzania. The study is guided by four objectives; to examine the extent to which knowledge among social security users, accessibility of MMT, perceived reliability and effect of user’s satisfaction of MMT influence social security schemes members’ contribution in Tanzania. The study used both quantitative and qualitative designs to collect and analyse data. Questionnaire, interview and documentary reviews were used to collect data from 50 randomly selected respondent who were customers of social security schemes. SPSS was used to compute frequencies, percentages, mean and standard deviation for the study findings. The study found that all the four independent variables had strong influence on the social security scheme contribution majority of the respondents strongly agreed that they heard about mobile money transfer on social security scheme contribution. Moreover, the findings revealed that perceived reliability on mobile money transfer has strongest influence on social security scheme contribution , followed by user satisfaction, knowledge , and Accessibility. This study recommends that social security schemes should start offering seminars to members in order to increase their knowledge on MMT in order to increase the number of people contributing to social security schemes. The government, MNO and social security schemes should refine the MMT accessibility especially in rural areas so as to reach many peoples. Moreover, MNO should increase reliability of MMT so as to accommodate many members in social security schemes. Finally, the study recommends that MNO and social security schemes should improve MMT by advertising MMT so as to create awareness among informal sector members as the way to increase members in social security schemes.en_US
