dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to examine factors affecting global sourcing performance in the parastal organization in Tanzania. Parastal Organizations operational supplies. The organizations face huge challenges in their global sourcing chains and these challenges and bottleneck tend to limit their operations and inhibit their ability to make the required impact. The specific objective of the study involved, assessing the extent to which staff competence, infrastructural support and currency fluctuations affect the effectiveness of Global sourcing performance. The sample size of 80 was picked from top management, member of tender board, heads of department and procurement staff dealing with import. The study used structured questionnaire in collecting data from respondents. The analysis of data was done through the use of Statistical Package for Social science (SPSS) whereby questionnaires were included in SPSS programme. The findings of the study revealed that global sourcing performance in Tanzania is low compared to developed countries due to the fact that there are no advanced infrastructures such as means of transport and communication, internet availability network problems etc. also the country suffer currency fluctuation whereby money tends to fluctuate frequently and also there is no adequate training to staff that may enable them to cope with the environment. From the study findings, the study has offered a number of recommendations which will enable the sector go grow and exert influence in the competitive global market.en_US
