Dar es Salaam City is dependent on the agricultural production that goes on in its vicinity as well as the whole country. Invariably much of this production is by the peasantry. This study attempts to examine the peasant production and marketing around the city, specifically in Kisarawe district. It tries to answer questions such as; what limits productivity of Kisarawe? What marketing organizations are there? And what does the peasant in Kisarawe live on. The material include observation data, interview responses etc. The data is given in the wider perspective provided by previous studies and current government policies.en_US
