dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was gain insight into the perceptions on Physical Education teachers` and students in secondary schools in Tanzania. The researcher sought to explore the status of PE in Secondary schools. The study utilized survey design in order to understand the perception of teachers about PE and get the opinion of teachers and students about the status of PE in secondary schools. The study was conducted in Dar es Salaam and cost region. The study covered six secondary schools. The sample of the sturdy was 136 respondents, which included 6 PE teachers and 130 students in the school that are offering and that do not offer PE from IIV. The study used both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. The quantitative research used questionnaire to collect data, the qualitative method used interview, documentary review and observation. The findings found that both teachers and students perceived PE to other subjects. In the light of finding from the study, it was recommended that the Tanzania public, particularly policy makers, parents and children must be sensitized and made aware of the importance of PE programs. | en_US |
