Abstract

The Group felt that, whilst it agreed with the Plan of Action that sufficient knowledge existed to permit ant desertification schemes to commence, there was no room for complacency. Many gaps in knowledge exist, and even where research is currently adequate it must be continually updated: some points included in the Overview and its supporting papers may even now be superseded.
