Abstract
The main objective of the study was to assess the usage of ICT Enterprises in Small and Medium (SMEs) development in Dar es Salaam region. The study mainly based managers and employee working 11d on the SMEs who makes a total sample size of 110 who responded to the questionnaires correctly and 91.7 percent of response was achieved. The approach used was explanatory which aims at establish the relationship between the variables which are marketing of SMEs products/ services, competitive tool and management control tool. Also the research employed positivism paradigm and primary data collection. The software package for statistical Science (SPSS) was applied to perform data analysis, with a multiple regression model for hypothesis testing. The findings of this study reveal that the extent- ICT usage has strong relationship enhancing SMEs development. During the research study some problems were identified the researcher such as lack of enough investment on more modern ICT devices such as computers and faxes which enable easer way of getting information and other marketing processes such as advertising through networks, the only investment in high percent was 0:2 phones which shows some limitation in this more advanced world in terms of giving out information on how to win in the complex market. Moreover those who possess computers some of them lacks or has no more advanced knowledge on how to operate them. Therefore this study recommended that efforts should be directed in bringing, about improvement of ICT usage in enterprises through training of the operators who uses the devices and also put more effort in investments of more advanced ICT devices.
